DARE
THINK BIG
START SMALL: ONE DAY AT A TIME.
When you train yourself to think big, don't act small! Yes, think big because you can! Why not? They say there is nothing as powerful as an idea whose time has come. The time has come for your big idea. There is no better time than now. As Le Brown counsels, "Shoot for the sun, and even if you miss the sun you will most likely land on the moon or somewhere among the stars."
Our thoughts are the roadmap to what we become in life. We are the product of our most predominant thoughts. It is little wonder today that the topic of 'Thinking big' has become a lifestyle.. for think big, act big and become big. This wave of thinking seems to draw heavily from what has been termed the 'Great American Dream,' which many have yet to come to terms with. However, whether there is such a dream cast in stone or not, the phrase has certainly inspired millions of American citizens to go out of their way to maximize their potential.
For sure, God is interested in our ambitious dreams as long as they are meant for His own glory. The size of your dream reflects the depth of your faith. The shallower your faith, the smaller your dream will be, and vice versa. However, the truth remains that God is not defeated by dreams committed to Him as long as such dreams are within His divine will. It is usually us who often make wrong choices, while other times we lack determination and give up too early.
Is your dream ambitious enough? All you need is to put on the armor of courage that you need to embark on the journey to your destiny. Winston Churchill rightly considered courage to be the foremost of virtues, for, upon it, all other virtues depend. It is courage founded on the faith that defines human character in a world of uncertainty. Hence, it takes courage to develop ambitious plans. You will know your plans are ambitious enough when those who hear them dismiss them as impossible. However, commit to God everything you do, then He will make your plans to succeed.
To think big, however, does not mean to start big! I find it important to break my rather wild thoughts into immediate and achievable goals, one step at a time. pick the most important goal, then focus time and energy towards its accomplishment. Live out each day with a target in mind! Stay on a particular goal, submitting to all its specific requirements, until it is successfully accomplished. It helps to stay on course until your goal is complete. Don't leave goals unaccomplished hoping, they can be done some other day. That 'someday' doesn't exist! Once you lose the steam and momentum, it is difficult to pick up again in the future. Certainly, it cannot be picked up again with the same enthusiasm as before.
